The story

Started for
one reason.

R5 Executive Travel was founded in 2023 by Louis & Geoff Herbert — a father-and-son team who had spent years working in and around the chauffeur industry, and were tired of the same recurring failures. Brokered cars no one had inspected. Drivers who had never been briefed. Quotes that quietly changed at the kerb.

It started with years of driving around Manchester, saving towards a first Mercedes. In 2023 that goal became R5 — a family-run service built on reliability, discretion, and genuine care. Several years on, the fleet covers the full range of executive classes and the same pair are still answering the phones.

We are not a broker. Every car in the fleet is owned and maintained by us. Every chauffeur on the road is part of our team, briefed and accountable. The standard you see on the first booking is the standard you will see on the hundredth.

How we work

Three working principles.

i.

Owned, not brokered

Every vehicle in the fleet is ours. We have inspected it, maintained it, and put a chauffeur in it that we have briefed personally. Substitution does not happen without you knowing about it first.

ii.

NDA-bound, by default

Every chauffeur signs a non-disclosure agreement as a condition of work. No social media posts, no name-dropping, no exceptions. Plate-only correspondence available for high-profile bookings.

iii.

Direct contact, always

No call centres, no overseas dispatch. The team that answers the phone is the team that books the cars and briefs the chauffeurs. The number on your invoice reaches the same person twice.

Chauffeurs.Hand-picked, fully licensed, DBS-cleared. They turn up early, in pressed black, with the day’s brief already read. They know the route, the alternatives, and the principal’s preferences before they arrive at the kerb.

Concierge & dispatch.The same small team handles every booking from quote to invoice. They will recognise your name on the second call and remember which car you preferred. Reachable seven days, no menu trees.
