Mercedes V-Class · R5 Group
For five to seven passengers who want the manners of a saloon in something the airport and the hotel forecourt are equally happy to receive. Lighter than the Sprinter; easier through a Cheshire lane; quieter than you expect.
For groups of five to seven
Most of the work the V-Class does for our clients is unremarkable, on purpose. That is the point.
02 — Why this car
The V-Class is the most-requested vehicle in the fleet because it asks nothing of the journey. It fits where larger cars don't, carries everyone in one car, and arrives at any address — private or public — without comment.
i. The footprint
Extra Long but mews-friendly. Five-and-a-half metre turning circle. Our chauffeurs take it places they would refuse to take the flagship — village pubs, country-house gravel, narrow forecourts.
ii. The cabin
Captain chairs arranged conference-style around a fixed centre table. Up to seven guests in conversation, eye-to-eye, not in rows. Leather throughout, double-glazed privacy glass, four-zone climate. Quiet enough for a phone call; conventional enough that no one asks about it.
iii. The arrival
Hotels, airports, country houses and registry offices recognise it on sight. No staging, no delay at the door, no question about where to park. The V-Class is what they were already expecting.
03 — Services
The V-Class is the most-booked car in the fleet because it answers more than one question. Five-to-seven passengers, almost any occasion — from the airport at six to a country house at eight. Below, how each R5 service typically calls for it.
The right-sized car for a family of six with skis, a corporate party of five with overnight cases, or three guests with full luggage. Flight-tracked across all UK airports, fixed-priced, met inside the terminal — not on the kerb.
Bridal parties, family arrivals, hen-and-stag civility. Cabin pre-cooled, dress hooks fitted on request, photographs out of the front passenger window. The car the country-house porter walks straight up to.
Four to six in a working transfer; the cabin as the meeting room between Manchester and the M62 corridor. Conference-style seating around the table, Wi-Fi at every chair, the call held face-to-face. Account-managed; consolidated invoicing.
Six friends to Anfield, an anniversary at Hawksmoor, a country pub on a Sunday afternoon. Door-to-door, no surge pricing, the same chauffeur for the night. The simple answer to "let's all go in one car."
When the brief is talent and a stylist, not the full unit. Quieter than the Sprinter, easier through narrow Soho streets, less conspicuous on a residential pickup. Often paired with a Sprinter for the broader call sheet.
04 — Specification, in brief
i.
Captain chairs arranged face-to-face around a fixed centre table. Up to seven guests in eye-contact, working or talking. Leather throughout, individual armrests in the second row.
ii.
Encrypted 4G router; phone-grade signal end to end; charging at every seat for working transfers.
iii.
Tinted to UK private-hire spec; double-glazed in the rear — six decibels of road removed.
iv.
Independent temperature for driver, front passenger, and either side of the cabin. Pre-set to last preference.

i. Departure
The V is built around the principle that the group should not be split. Cases handled, seats assigned to brief, ambient already at the temperature you preferred last time.

ii. In motion
Air-suspended over Cotswold lanes, a 5.4-metre turning circle through Mayfair mews, motorway-quiet on the M6. The vehicle that stops being a compromise the moment you step inside.
05 — Specification
For eight in suit-and-luggage, a cooled console and a half-day with five stops — the Sprinter. For five to seven in any other circumstance, the V-Class is faster, lighter, easier to park, easier to live with — and the car the staff at most venues are practised at receiving.
A client, on his fourth booking this month
"The V is the only car I've booked four times in the same week. Different group every time. It just — works."— J.A., Manchester
