Parklife has two logistics problems. Getting in is solved — Metrolink runs well from Victoria to Heaton Park for the early door-times. Getting out, a different story. At 23:00 on a Saturday, 80,000 people want to move at once. The tram becomes standing-only with a queue that stretches up Bury New Road. Ubers surge past £100 and still cancel on you. The walk to Crumpsall or Prestwich is twenty minutes through a crowd.
R5's Parklife service solves the exit. We drop you at the Bowker Vale Metrolink side of the park pre-event, and our driver is pre-positioned at an agreed named pickup point off the main egress route for the post-headliner return.
